I have the honour to confirm my

telegram of the 29th. ultimo, requesting Your Lordship to

inform Dr. W. Hunter that his agreement as Goverment

Bacteriologist will very probably not be renewed at its

expiration.

If on this intimation Dr. Hunter

prefers to resign immediately instead of returning to the

Colony, I would recommend that the appointment should be

offered to Dr. Heanley on revised conditions as to salary

and service which I will subait later, if Dr. Hunter
